Something's fishy about Kim Kardashian this Halloween.

For a Midori costume bash on Saturday Oct. 27, the reality star, 32, summoned one of the most famous mermaids of all time: Not the Little Mermaid's Ariel (a redhead), but the blonde, fishtailed mermaid of Splash, the 1984 fantastical romance starring sexy mermaid Daryl Hannah and Tom Hanks as her mortal suitor.

"Getting ready for my Midori Halloween party tonight!!!" Kardashian teased her fans on Twitter. (She is spokeswoman for the melon-flavored — and green! — liquor.) "Any idea of what my costume party will be???" Later revealing her look — a blonde wig, a shell-encrusted top and green fishtail dress, she wrote "Splash".

Her man Kanye West didn't channel Hanks, exactly, but a more generic nautical theme. "Me and my captain!" she wrote of the rapper, 35, by her side in a subsequent shot and wearing a naval-inspired outfit.

By all accounts it seems a much happier Halloween season for the Keeping Up with the Kardashians starlet than 2011. Back then, attending a Midori bash in Las Vegas for the pre-Halloween weekend — as Batman's Poison Ivy, another green-intense character — she was just days away from filing for divorce from husband Kris Humphries on Oct. 31. She and the NBA star, 28, are still locked in a divorce battle that promises to drag on into 2013.
