Taking a different path.

“One Life To Live” fans will never forget when Spencer Truman stormed into Llanview in 2005 and terrorized those around him until his death in 2007 when the character was murdered by Lindsay Rappaport (Catherine Hickland). Though Satterfield has recently resurfaced with a role as Lee Nelson on the web series “The Bay,” the actor is looking to take a whole other direction in life…

Now 51 years old, Satterfield is currently studying at Drury University’s School of Education and Child Development for a Masters in education and will earn certification in 2013 and graduates in 2014. Fans may not know this, but the actor graduated from Whitman College with a bachelor’s degree in English and was a substitute teacher in the Springfield School District. He recently sat down with Drury University’s Mark Miller (associate director of marketing and communications) and stated, “I taught everything from elementary classes to 12th-grade English. That was the spark that sent me back to school. It would be crazy not to take advantage of this slowdown in my acting career. People always want to continue their education, but they don’t have the incentive to get started.”

Aside from his “One Life To Live” role, Satterfield appeared in “General Hospital” (Paul Hornsby, 1991 to 1994), “Savannah” (Tom Massick, 1996 to 1997), “Pacific Palisades” (John Graham, 1997), “The Bold And The Beautiful” (Dr. Pierce Peterson, 1998 to 1999) and numerous Primetime shows.

Soaps.com commends Satterfield and wishes the actor all the best with his continued education.
